Tax Lady Roni Deutch Celebrates Halloween with Massive Party and Trick-Or-Treating for Local Receiving Home

North Highlands, CA (PRWEB) November 6, 2007

Tax lady Roni Deutch celebrated Halloween in her usual style with a massive Halloween party and festivities throughout the day.

“My fondest childhood memories are all from times when I was spending Halloween with my family,” notes Ms. Deutch. “I remember dragging my older brothers and sisters out to go trick-or-treating with my brother Rusty and I for hours and hours. Nothing brought me more joy then to come home with a bag overflowing with candy after a long Halloween night. Every year we invite children from the Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento to come trick-or-treat through our offices because I know how great a feeling trick-or-treating can be. These children have been through so much and I am proud of my employees for voluntarily bringing in candy every year to give out to the children.”

Nearly sixty children arrived at the law firm at around 10:00 AM for trick-or-treating. The law firm’s employees gathered outside of their offices and cubicles to hand out candy to the children as they passed by. Afterwards, volunteers treated them to a trip through the firm’s haunted house that was built by law firm employees. “Seeing the children smile made it all worth it,” claims Suzanne Burke who coordinated the trick-or-treating and guided the children through the offices. “They were all so adorable in their Halloween costumes and were so excited just to be here.”

Trick-or-treating was only the beginning of the festivities. Included in the firm’s annual Halloween celebration were extremely competitive costume and office decorating contests. “People got really into the competitions,” noted Assistant Managing Attorney Justin Hein. “This year we had some of the most incredible costumes I’ve ever seen. We had one employee dressed as a GEICO cave man whose costume featured a prosthetic nose and makeup that took hours to apply. Another male employee dressed up like Lindsay Lohan with attention to detail including sunglasses, a fake cigarette, and an ankle monitor.”

Ms. Deutch herself was dressed as a giant surfboard, with stickers identical to those found on her own surfboard. “I love Halloween because it let’s us celebrate the freaks that we all are,” says Ms. Deutch, who could barely walk in her own costume. “I just love getting all dressed up seeing the insane costumes my employees come up with. Every year the costumes just keep getting wilder and wilder.” During the costume competition, Ms. Deutch handing out $ 5,000 in gift certificates including twenty-five $ 100 honorable mention prizes.

To see the top ten costumes from the firm’s party, check out the Top 10 Costumes from My Firm’s Annual Halloween Party entry on Ms. Deutch’s personal blog, Roni Deutch: The Tax Lady Blog.

Lindsay Lohan Fights Back About Her Weight Loss

alright!!!! here is part five!5!
Video Rating: 4 / 5

Question by Anderson: Lindsay Lohan has to pay a ton for car insurance, why shouldn’t fat people & smokers pay more in medicare tax?
Yes medicare is public, but it still is insurance which offsets risk of something happening. Since Lindsay Lohan’s choices led to her outrageous car insurance premiums, why shouldn’t overeating, smoking, and excessive drinking raise a persons medicare withholding from their paycheck?
Or should poor Lindsay get a break because it would just be mean to make her pay more for her choices and let her pay what the rest of us pay?

Lotto-Win Novel Reignites Family Feud

New York City, NY (PRWEB) November 19, 2007

While Gerald Hansen was writing An Embarrassment of Riches, a novel about a lotto win erupting into a family feud, he had no idea the publication would pour fuel on a decade-old estrangement between his mother and her relatives and leave him fearing for his safety. Although the launch party, held recently in New York City’s Village Underground, was a standing-room only success, author Hansen kept stealing nervous glances over his shoulder while signing copies.

“I was terrified my mother’s relatives would crash the party,” Hansen says. “Who knows what they might have done if they had shown up, but I was prepared. There were undercover police amongst the crowd.”

The trouble started months before publication, when a cousin from Northern Ireland “stumbled upon” the novel’s website and, in the site’s guestbook, derided Hansen for having taken “40 years” to write a book. “I would have had to start writing when I was negative five,” Hansen laughs. After that day, the website was suddenly inundated with strange new visitors who scoured the pages for hours each visit. “I really have no way of knowing who the actual hits were from,” Hansen admits, “but some of my mother’s relatives emigrated from Northern Ireland to Florida and Canada, and day after day hate-filled rants were written in the guestbook about a character in my book, Ursula, who might be mistaken for my mother. And those comments were written by visitors from Florida and Canada. I had to shut the guestbook down.”

An Embarrassment of Riches, newly released and riding high in sales on Amazon.com and BN.com, is set in Hansen’s mother’s hometown of Derry, Northern Ireland, and is a family saga, black comedy, love story and courtroom drama dealing with the trials of Ursula and Jed Barnett. In it, Ursula coerces her Yank husband Jed to retire in Derry, hoping to atone for her youthful sins as a collaborator with the IRA in the 1970s. After Ursula’s lotto win, however, her sister-in-law Fionnuala Flood rallies the family against Ursula. The novel boasts a high pedigree of collaborators, with a cover by famous Korean illustrator Swan Park (who did last year’s Showgirl Princess, Kylie Minogue’s children’s book) and an author photo by red-hot Brian Appio (Kanye West, Lindsay Lohan, Green Day, etc.).

Hansen admits that his mother and father did retire in Derry, did win the Irish lottery, and relations between the families did sour. “But that’s where the similarity ends,” he says. “If my Irish aunts and uncles and cousins read the book, they would realize that.”

Thankfully, unwanted guests didn’t show at the book’s launch, but you can show your interest by purchasing a copy on Amazon.com or BN.com. The website (with a new guestbook) is http://www.geraldhansen.vpweb.com.

TouchStone Developers Offer Celebrities Free ‘Little Voice Inside’ To Navigate The Holiday Season

pic5

Santa Cruz, CA (PRWEB) November 28, 2007

Today, VitaScans, the developers of TouchStone, ‘the Little Voice Inside,’ announced that they will send TouchStones, free-of-charge, to any celebrity that requests one, to help them better navigate the 2007 holiday season.

The Touchstone, a tiny battery-powered, hand held disk that uses a combination of biofeedback and muscle testing techniques, as practiced by complementary health practitioners, including psychologists, across the world, can be used anywhere to translate a subconscious feeling, or ‘the little voice inside.’ “Think of it as a portable electronic Dr. Phil,” said Mackeonis, the Touchstone’s main architect, continuing, “because the TouchStone helps individuals hone in and focus on what their minds and bodies are telling them in relationships, life balance and wellness.

Vitascans came up with the idea of giving away TouchStones to celebrities after ‘corporate gifting’ company Distinctive Assets asked them to provide TouchStones for Oscar 2008 and Grammy 2008 nominee’s gift bags. Vitascans decided that as celebrities are admired by so many people and have the power to influence millions of kids, not only through their appearance, but by their behavior, that maybe having a tool to help them make better decisions would be beneficial. Having a visual representation of whether a choice is potentially beneficial, neutral or detrimental, through a series of green, amber or red lights might give them some personal insight before they do something rash: “Is partying again tonight good for me?” or “I’ve had a few drinks, should I drive to In-and-Out for a burger?” or perhaps, “Should I marry K-Fed?” A Vitascans spokesperson commented, “The visualization of flashing red or green lights could save celebs a lot of trouble, by giving them a tool to help them think twice.”

Vitascans altruistic holiday season’s celebrity gifting acknowledges that we all live in a complex world, even more so for young celebrities who don’t seem to have a clear path to their inner voice, and, as a result, often make bad decisions, and they want to help. “The news is always full of celebrity woes, and that’s not good because children, teenagers, as well as young adults look up to these people, “said Mackeonis. “But in their defense, it can’t be easy being as famous as Amy Winehouse, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Ritchie or Paris Hilton, because everyone around you is going to say yes to anything they say or want to do. It takes a strong personality to control this kind of complete freedom, and those who can’t, often find themselves in conflict with the law, or worse.”

As far as confidentiality is concerned, VitaScans has already supplied TouchStones to a number of world famous personalities and their identities will remain confidential, and any newly interested celebrities or agents should contact Lisa at on 831-840-3729 to have a Touchstone FedEx’d to them overnight.

VitaScans also recommends Touchstones as gifts for mere non celebrities – selling for $ 99.99, they are available direct at http://www.vitascans.com/order.html

”Searches can give us insight into a culture in motion and Yahoo!’s Top Trends in Search in 2007 reflects the world’s fascination with crossroads and breakthroughs. People weren’t just buzzing about celebrity. More than ever they sought to be environmentally responsible, were using the Web to find out about food and product safety and getting the scoop on the latest gadgets,” said Heather Cabot, Yahoo! In addition, the ongoing conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan propelled buzz throughout the year. With the ongoing diplomatic situation with Iran and visit from the Iranian president, Yahoo! users searched for more information on Iran than Iraq this year. Among the Presidential hopefuls, who embraced the Web in larger numbers this year, Democratic contenders Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton once again drummed up a large number of searches.

Al Gore’s, “An Inconvenient Truth,” won an Academy Award and brought global warming to the fore-front. Ultimately, the commanding search of food safety-related searches such as Menu Foods, E. coli, and Topps, surged to the top in an effort to stay informed. Rowling, all of which whom earned the most fare-thee-well searches of 2007, and making it the final chapter of the young wizards’ adventures. Anna Nicole Smith’s tragic passing intrigued many fans to search for her throughout the past year. In that curious intersection of real and fictional worlds, the assassination of comic-book character, Captain America, who was gunned down after defending his civil liberties, was too laden with symbolism to ignore. His death provoked a strong search reaction, although plans for his legacy continue to be in the works.
